Leigh is world renowned for Goat Island Marine Reserve and Research Centre where you can swim, snorkel or scuba dive with the fish.
Other local attractions include, walking tracks, picturesque harbour, a boat ramp, safe family beaches plus Daniel's Reef, one of the best surfing reefs in NZ. There are many vineyards, restaurants, country markets and two golf courses close by.
